March's Luncheon Meeting
We are excited to welcome Barbara Zuleger, a Certified Business Coach with ActionCOACH Business Coaching.
Barbara has more than 15 years of experience in small business. Her years as a business owner give her a unique understanding of the challenges small business owners face as their business grows and changes. She personally understands the day to day challenges of running a business and how to overcome them one step at a time.
Passionate about business coaching and the possibilities it brings to the owners of small and medium businesses, Barbara coaches people how to stretch their visions and reach their goals. She believes that a business can only grow as much as its owner and that our community will only be as strong as our small businesses.
She actively participates in the local business community through BNI, Women In Networking, and as a member of the Anoka Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
Barbara’s purpose is to increase the vision of business owners, to motivate and inspire them and their team to use their talents for the benefit of everyone.

? Spring Fever is a real physical condition which commonly occurs when a sudden warm spell follows a long cold period. When the temperature rises, the body has to get rid of heat; thus there's a dilation or expansion of the blood vessels so that blood can be carried to the body surface where heat can be lost quickly.
Some people experience an energetic feeling when this change happens due to the body's reaction to the great amount of internal work going on.
Table Decorations and Favors

YMCA Anoka County Youth Intervention
Last summer, the Emma B. Howe Family YMCA expanded their youth intervention programming into Anoka County by offering youth outreach services and resources to youth, families and schools.
Each month, CWRE will post a list of immediate needs for these individuals at our meeting luncheons. If you are able to help by donating items on the list, please contact Rachel Niemann at Rachel@GreenwellRealty.com. or any of our Families in Need Committee members for questions regarding this outreach.

Prep: 20 min., Stand: 2 hrs., Bake: 15 min. If the berries are very sweet, decrease the sugar to suit your taste. Drop the dough easily by using a lightly greased 1/3-cup dry measure.
Ingredients
- 2 (16-oz.) containers fresh strawberries, quartered
- 3/4 cup sugar, divided
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract (optional)
- 1 cup whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 3/4 cup cold butter, cut up
- 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 (8-oz.) container sour cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Garnish: fresh mint sprigs
Preparation
1. Combine strawberries, 1/2 cup sugar, and, if desired, almond extract. Cover berry mixture, and let stand 2 hours.
2. Beat whipping cream at medium speed with an electric mixer until foamy; gradually add 2 Tbsp. sugar, beating until soft peaks form. Cover and chill up to 2 hours.
3. Combine flour, remaining 1/4 cup sugar, and baking powder in a large bowl; cut butter into flour mixture with a pastry blender or two forks until crumbly.
4. Whisk together eggs, sour cream, and vanilla until blended; add to flour mixture, stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened. Drop dough by lightly greased 1/3 cupfuls onto a lightly greased baking sheet. (Coat cup with vegetable cooking spray after each drop.)
5. Bake at 450° for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden.
6. Split shortcakes in half horizontally. Spoon about 1/2 cup berry mixture onto each shortcake bottom; top each with a rounded Tbsp. chilled whipped cream, and cover with tops. Serve with remaining whipped cream. Garnish, if desired.
Strawberry Jam Shortcakes: Prepare recipe as directed. Before topping shortcake bottoms with strawberry mixture, stir together 1/4 cup strawberry jam and 2 Tbsp. chopped fresh mint. Spread cut sides of bottom shortcake halves evenly with jam mixture. Proceed with recipe as directed.

Short Sales I: If You Can't Avoid Them, You Had Better Understand Them
Wed, April 14
11:30am – 1:30pm
Many homes are for sale that cannot be sold unless the lender/s agree to accept less than the full amount owed to them. This is called a "Short Sale". A short sale may result in the lender/s agreeing to forgive the remaining debt or that remaining debt may carry forward.
Learn what risks are inherent in these types of transactions. Learn how to best protect the seller, buyer and yourself. Steve Nash and Bill Keyes are both experienced real estate attorneys with a great deal of speaking experience. The seminar will contain practical, up-to-date information and will be presented in an informal setting to allow you to ask the questions that you need answered.
Bill Lunn of 5 Eyewitness News to Emcee our Style Show
We are excited to welcome
Bill Lunn
of 5 Eyewitness News to emcee our
29th Annual Style Show in May.
“It’s my goal to bring people information that impacts their lives. I love the urgency and immediacy of TV news, and I love reporting the big story,” says Bill Lunn.
Previous experience
Having lived for years in both Duluth and Winona, Bill is no stranger to Minnesota. He began his broadcasting career as a reporter then anchor for a Duluth television station before trading the frozen tundra for Memphis where was the morning news anchor at WMC-TV, and the evening news anchor at WPTY-TV.
Over the years Bill has covered the big stories on a national level. He has covered news at the White House. He covered the 1998 impeachment of President Bill Clinton live from Washington, D.C. And he was here in Minnesota; live from the crash site of Northwest Airlink flight 5719 in Hibbing in 1993 where 18 people were tragically killed. You may have noticed that Bill loves to bring you stories about the outdoors. His special report on the expanding range of cougars in Minnesota was weeks ahead of a cougar that showed up in the Twin Cities in November of 2009.
Awards
Bill has multiple Emmy nominations. He also received a Minnesota Associated Press award for a story about wild rice harvesting with Ojibwe Indians. He was also honored in the fall of 2008 when emceed the National Civil Rights Museums's Freedom Awards.
Education
Bill attended St. Mary's University in Winona and received a B.A. in English Literature. He received his Masters in Journalism from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.
Personal Interests
Bill loves spending time with his wife Sheri and three sons: John, William and Daniel. Bill and his busy family enjoy any kind of outdoor activity together especially fishing both from a boat and on the ice. They also like skiing together. One of Bill's big thrills was fishing with Minnesota fishing legend Al Lindner.
Charitable Work
Bill loves to help out local charities. He's been involved with the March of Dimes for more than a decade, has served on their board of directors and as a media spokesperson. Bill would love to serve as the emcee of your charity or church's next event. He also enjoys speaking to civic groups and schools about covering news in the Twin Cities and Minnesota.
?The best time to prune evergreens is from December to March during the winter dormant season. It is recommended to not prune heavily in the spring because cuts made during the growing season will result in very dense growth on top. The dense upper growth can shade the lower foliage so much that it will die.
Proper pruning will allow more air and light to penetrate the plant. The cuts made to an emerging branch will allow side branches to develop lower in the plant which gives the plant denser growth but does not increase size.
